Jeff Capel has been named the head coach of the University of Pittsburgh men’s basketball program as announced Tuesday afternoon by Pitt Director of Athletics Heather Lyke. The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg is pleased to announce the hiring of Brody Jackson as its head men’s basketball coach. “I am honored to be named the head coach of the University of Pittsburgh men’s basketball program,” Capel said in a statement.
Ryan Shay is entering his second season as Pitt-Bradford's head men's basketball coach.In his inaugural season of 2018-19, Shay guided the Panthers to four wins capped by a thrilling 74-70 victory over eventual AMCC Champion Penn State-Behrend on the final day of the season in front of a raucous KOA Arena crowd.Pitt-Bradford led the AMCC with 8.8 steals per game.Shay came to Pitt-Bradford from the University of Rochester, where he served as an assistant coach since 2014.The Andover, N.Y., native assisted with national recruiting efforts, player development, on-court coaching and strength and conditioning, while also having a hand in all other facets of the nationally competitive Rochester program.In his four seasons, he helped guide Rochester to a 67-37 combined record, including a trip to the Elite Eight in the 2016-17 NCAA Tournament.
